Sights of San Francisco
Where to start in this ‘anything goes’ kinda town? The main thoroughfare is Market Street with SoMa (South of Market) containing galleries, fun, and warehouses, while North of Market is the financial district. Union Square is a great place to hang out and people watch, which is well worth doing in San Francisco just for the amazing array of different types you will see.
Chinatown is worth a visit while the parrots of North Beach can be heard before being seen. The best museum for a wide range of exhibitions is the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, though there are plenty of others such as the Museum of Craft & Folk Arts, and the Cartoon Art Museum.
For nature within a city, head for the Golden Gate Park, over 1,000 acres of reclaimed sand dunes. There is the Conservatory of Flowers with carnivorous plants, a Japanese Tea Garden complete with bonsai, and Stow Lake where you can hire a boat.
